Potatoes with Mushrooms

2 or 3 large potatoes, peeled

1 package whole or sliced white mushrooms

1 pint heavy cream

Butter

Garlic

Salt

Pepper

Grease a baking dish with butter then cover bottom of dish with minced garlic. (This is already minced garlic in a jar and can be found in the produce section of food store or in the dairy section.)

Sauté the sliced mushrooms in 3 or 4 tablespoons of butter until browned, over high heat and set aside.

Thin slice the potatoes and layer in the bottom of the baking dish on top of garlic and butter. Alternate layers of potatoes and mushrooms. Salt as you layer.

Pour pint of heavy cream over potatoes and mushrooms and place in 375 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Test the potatoes with a knife, they should be soft.
