Broccoli with Cheese Sauce

Steam some broccoli.

Sauce:

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

Dash cayenne

1/16 teaspoon turmeric

Salt to taste (maybe 1/8 teaspoon)

1/2 cup grated mild cheddar or colby cheese

Melt the butter, add the flour, salt, spices, heat until it starts to bubble a bit. Add the milk and cheese, cook over medium low heat until the sauce thickens. Serve over broccoli (good over toast, too - or bulgur wheat, if you’re into ‘hippie’ food).
