Sara's Perfect Apple Pie

6 - 8 apples, peeled and sliced

3/4 ish cup sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon (+-) nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter

Mix sugar, flour, spices and dash of salt. Add mix to apples and stir up; Let mixture sit while you make the crust.

Put filling in bottom crust. Dot top of filling with butter. Add top crust and pinch edges to seal. Make initial of your favorite person in the top crust with fork tines. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or so until crust is brown and it looks done.

Note: you can add raisins, (gold or regular), walnuts or anything else for variety.

For 2 crusts:

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

10 1/2 (+-) tablespoons Crisco (Not butter flavored)

5 - 7 tablespoons ice water

Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add 5 - 5 1/2 tablespoons Crisco. Cut Crisco into flour with a pastry cutter until the texture of cornmeal. Add another 5 - 5 1/2 tablespoons Crisco. Cut in until mixture is like small peas.

Sprinkle one tablespoon ice water over one part of mix, toss with a fork until moist. Push to side of bowl. Repeat until all is moistened.

Form into 2 balls. Flatten one on a floured surface. Roll to pie size. Curl dough over roller and place in pan. Add filling. Roll out top. Put on top, seal edges. Complete as described above.
