2
gallons of the cheapest red wine you can get. It should be dark,
though, so no white zinfandel shit or anything like that. Merlot
is good.
1 liter Aquavit (must be at least 140 proof) (if not available 151
will do)
1 lb. sugar
some sticks of cinnamon
a bunch of cloves
a large box of raisins
a bunch of blanched almonds.
Heat the wine up in a big pot to short of boiling. While it is heating
dump in all the spices and flavoring.
Meanwhile... put the sugar, slightly wet so that it sticks together,
into a cone of paper (make it into a cone with tape). Then stick
the cone of sugar into the oven (on low).
Then take the wine off the stove, bring it out, and put a grate
over half the pot of wine. Dump in the Aquavit, and put the cone
of sugar on the grate (with the paper removed).
Light the mixture, and ladle the flaming mixture over the sugar
until much of it dissolves, serve.
Blow it out and drink. The effect is max with the lights off.
