Granola |
1
large box Grapenuts (add after baking)
1 (2lb.. 10 oz.) box Quaker Quick Oats
1 (14oz.) package shredded coconut
2 cups sliced almonds
1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
2 cups Kretchmer’s wheat germ (add after baking)
1 tablespoon salt
1 1⁄2 cups peanut oil
2/3 cup water
1 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Option:
2 cups chopped dates (add after baking) These get really hard over
time, so unless you plan to use the granola pretty soon, omit or
use raisins.
Blend: sugar oil, water, salt and vanilla. Then add all but Grapenuts
and wheat germ. Place on large cookie sheets or shallow baking pans
at 325º Stir frequently until light brown. About 1 hour.
